What a poor year, my portfolio is down from 11% to -11%.
Mostly because of HSBC, MFC, both of them took 73% of my portfolio and they're all went south. In addition to some short fried CAT, MCD, I know I'm not a stir fry player. Let me focus back to just long term investment.
In 2011, I added Vitasoy and KO in my long term portfolio, so far they make me feel safe in such economy.
Look for the seeing what's going to happen in 2012.
If this will be the end of the world in 2012, this portfolio doesn't really make any interest factor.

最後的演講

I watched "The Last Lecture" on youtube for quite awhile ago. This is the book version of that youtube video. i believe the book covers more than the 1 hour content of the video. Randy Pausch was talking about how to reach childhood dream. I believe we all have dreams, but how many of us are actually thinking about reaching them. Most of us (at least myself is) some time work like a zombie, working to satisfy someone's dream (someone's business). This reminds me about Steve Jobs who died in about a week ago. Both Randy and Steve to follow our own direction and forget others. First question I raise is "what about my existing burden?"
How do I carry the burden and at the same time achieving my dream?
The question is yet to be answer. I should start doing a checklist of what I should do to answer this problem.

挪威的森林
First entry of 村上春樹. i didn't watch the movie, but let's give it a try, since i bought his series of 1Q84 already but no time to read them.
In the first half of the book it was so boring that I have no idea what type of novel this is, until Stasia told me 村上春樹 did it on all his pieces. First half took me so long to read until its half way, when characters started dying. The threme "死不是生的對極形式, 而是以生的一部分存在著的" shows up more and more. The book goes more and more interesting until the last word. I took just a week to finish the second half, it was like 5 time faster. This just give me more motivation to read 1Q84.

cheapo water bottles
I have been "thinking" to replace the broken water bottle in the office. after company party in Universal Studio which make my feel dehydrated so I was thinking about water bottles. By any chance Crystal told me she bought her stainless steel water bottom from Ross for $4.99, so I went to Ross and saw my favor red color only cost $5.99 for 2. The price is so cheap that I can have 1 for office use and one for carry around, so here they are now...

Approaching the last few personal training session. I think it's time to put down what I have done at this stage for future reference.

2. ergo - lvl 6 - 75 rev forward and backward
3. rower - lvl 10 - 500m
4. skier - 500m
5. dynamic warm up
6a. medical ball - face wall, overhead drop then push and jump the ball toward the wall, 5 * 2set
6b. medical ball - face side, hold ball top and bottom, turn body only and throw ball toward the wall, 5 * 2set
6c. medical ball - face back, jump and throw ball overhead back to the wall using lower back muscle, 5 * 2set
7. rollover doll - 80ft
8a. double thick rope - double waver, 25 * 2set
8b. double thick rope - single waver, 25 * 2set
8c. double thick rope - lay down sit up wave left and right, 25 * 2set
9a. pull rope - pull toward abs - 250ft

exercise change so fast this week, my weight reach 144lbs. Starting this week homework also focus on upper body, obviously seeing my arms are getting bigger.

Muscle building - week 6
exercise hadn't change since this week, my weight reach 143lbs. At the same time feel significant bigger muscles on the shoulder and arms. Starting this week the homework focus on upper body, since I still need a bit more training on dead lifting, but I can now benching and free weight lifting, huge improvement from the past.

超強閱讀術:一個月讀五十本書的方法
Clearly want to read books faster so i can clear my books bought from hong kong in all these years, but it is actually useful because the faster I can read, the more information I can go through in my lifetime. The book introduces/mentions a lot of method for speed reading the book, like 80/20, keywords searching, increase the area of read in one shot. However, I think the more book I read, the faster I can read more, this is just practice make perfect. For sure, I rather read slow for some of the literatures, just to taste their every single bit.

愛得喪盡天良
i love the book from 彭浩翔, because i love his black humor. He usually defines a weird fact, deploys it into a story, magnifies it, and becomes a ridiculous story but make myself rethink how we handle our life.
Three stories in this book: One couple planned a night to lose their virgin, but an acne on the girl's face eventually broke up the couple. A dude got a message from an anonymous girl who got in trouble, so he decided to save the girl in heroical way and lost his life. Another couple decided to live together in the guy's home, because the guy doesn't want the girl to smell his poop after use, he makes all kinds of excuses and seeding the mistrust inside the girl's mind. After the girl found out the truth, she was touched and the love overcomes the poop's smell.

Last week I was suffering with muscle sore, and it went away on my sixth day.
Starting week 2, according to person trainer, my deviation is going away. Nice, making progress.

Restarted exercise and joined UFC gym. Finally decided to hire personal trainer to help me build my muscle. Damn, they are expensive.
I'm a skinny guy and never gain weight even i eat a lot, the the main focus will be gaining muscle.

The Game - 把妹達人
The title of this game was really getting my attention, since i'm truly guy who just play with the computer and got difficulty speaking with gals. Hopefully get some improvement from this book. Instead of teaching you how to pick up a gal, author actually wrote a story telling book on how to become a PUA(Pick-up artist), joining the PUA community, addicted to it, get himself lost, and became a pick-up robot. Once he found out the problem, he went back to find a real job, and found his loved girlfriend with his real self. The community collapsed at the end with all the PUAs found out they all addicted to it and lost themselves.
The PUA addiction is just like we play so much online game that we lost our job and life. Pick-up skills might be necessary, but we should not over rely on the skill. Only the true heart will help to get the one we really love.

Investment Summary 2010
Here goes 2010. many ups and downs this year, just like roller coaster. Really challenge my patient. At the end of the end, my portfolio drop from +19% in 2009 to +13% in 2010, and total invested increase is only 7k.
With HBC, GE, MFC and WFC, I added AIA, JNJ, and KFT. just pull down more the ratio of HBC to 70%. Once again, I see myself putting most of the investment on financial sector, so I'm planning to add KO into my portfolio if there is a chance and look for other stock which gives decent dividend, should add more later. Stock market seems to going up for 2011, big drop may not happen in anytime, may be I will just hold the cash and wait in 2011.
Plan on basic emergency fund is just a fail in 2010, so I setup direct deposit to force myself putting money on it. Annual budget become even tighter. I only have $300 wreckless spending for 2011. I'm not sure if this is good, but it will be a tough year for me. Car payment still have 15 months to go. I think Roth IRA should be unrealistic in 2011. Totally feeling there is no way for me to turn around this year.
Holding my breath to rush through 2011.
